Social Training Research Center (CISTAC), a Bolivian NGO founded in 1988.
Our organization promotes the exercise of people’s rights, in particular, those related to sexuality. We are specialists in participatory advocacy and masculinity, including the production of interactive materials, gender and sexual diversity and comprehensive healthcare for young people.
Since 1999, CISTAC has actively opposed the Global Gag Rule, a law that effectively impedes the free exercise of sexual and reproductive rights worldwide.
Since 2001, in light of our unwavering commitment to human rights, our center has taken up the cause of emergency contraception. We firmly believe that emergency contraception, as well as a woman’s right to choose, should form part of a comprehensive health agenda, in effect, a human rights agenda for the region.
